This is a game that we have been looking forward to from the moment the 2025/26 Champions League fixtures were announced, two giants of European football who will both be desperate to win this match.

Cast your mind back a few months to that balmy evening at the Allianz Arena in Munich, where we all watched in disbelief as PSG tore apart an excellent Inter Milan, beating them 5 – 0 in last season’s Champions League final.

As for Barcelona, it looks like they are back to their legendary best after finishing on top of the table in last season’s La Liga, and they are already leading the way after seven games this season.

Odds and Predictions

Football betting sites have priced this one up with Barcelona the odds-on favourites at 1.85, PSG are available at 3.60, and the price for the draw is 4.20.

We would have to agree with those odds because for us, Barcelona will win this game in front of their own fans at the Nou Camp, so the first one of our tips is for Barcelona to win this match.

We actually think they will win this match quite convincingly, so for the last one of our predictions, we are recommending a bet on the correct score of 3 – 1 at odds of 13.0, definitely worth a small interest in our opinion.

Head-to-Head Record

Barcelona and PSG have played each other head-to-head fifteen times in their history, with Barcelona winning six of these matches, PSG winning five and four games ending in a draw.

The last time these teams played each other H2H was in the 2024 Champions League quarter final, where PSG won 6 – 4 on aggregate.

Current Form & Key Stats

Team Last 5 Matches Goals Scored Goals Conceded Clean Sheets Expected Goals (avg) Expected Goals Against (avg)
Barcelona W-W-W-W-W 16 3 2 1.5 1.22
PSG W-L-W-W-W 14 4 3 4.43 0.5

Key Players to Watch

This match will be even more interesting for UK punters because of Barcelona’s Marcus Rashford, what a wonderful performance he put in against Newcastle in the last Champions League match.

It would be fair to say that Rashford has gone “off the boil” over the last couple of seasons, but he now looks like a man with a mission and is no doubt hoping that his return to form will impress Thomas Tuchel with a view to playing in next year’s World Cup.

For PSG, we couldn’t be more impressed by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who, in our opinion, is one of the best wingers in the world.

He was injured in PSG’s victory over Auxerre at the weekend, but the latest news coming out of the PSG camp is that they are hopeful he will be fit for this game. Let’s hope so because he is a real talent and a player we love watching.

Barcelona Expected Line Up

Barcelona (4-2-3-1): Wojciech Szczęsny; Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araújo, Gerard Martín; Frenkie de Jong, Pedri González; Roony Bardghji, Dro Fernández, Marcus Rashford; Robert Lewandowski.

PSG Expected Line Up

PSG (4-2-3-1): Lucas Chevalier; Warren Zaïre-Emery, Lucas Beraldo, Illia Zabarnyi, Lucas Hernández; Vitinha, Lee Kang-in; Senny Mayulu, Ibrahim Mbaye, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia; Gonçalo Ramos.

Final Thoughts & Season Implications

Few punters would disagree when we say that both of these teams have an excellent chance of lifting the Champions League trophy this season.

It’s still early days, though, so let’s see how the tournament progresses, but it will get interesting when both of these teams progress to the round of 16, which we have no doubt they will.
