We have now reached the last group games so instead of our usual fix of three Euro24 games per day, we now have to make do with two.
What a game we have in store here though, after a truly atrocious performance against Germany, Scotland played with a completely different attitude against the Swiss on Wednesday night.
To a man, they were outstanding, and if they can beat Hungary, they will have a total of four points, which has been enough in the last two European Championships to qualify for the round of 16 (as well as the top two in each group, a further four places are available to the runners up with the most points).
However, it is a big ‘if’ they can beat Hungary, who played well against Germany on Wednesday afternoon, the 2 – 0 scoreline was flattering to the hosts because Hungary had a couple of great chances of grabbing an equaliser when the score was 1 – 0.
Odds and Predictions
The bookies have priced this match up to be very close and we can’t argue with that view, Hungary are the 2.50 favourites with the odds on Scotland 2.55, the draw is priced at 4.0.
We can’t believe we are saying this but Scotland do have a shout in this match, Hungary are the better team but if Scotland can reproduce that passion in front of the Tartan Army, they could scrape a win here and have a good chance of making it to the round of 16.
With that in mind, our tips for this match start with a Win for Scotland at 2.5 with a scoreline of 2 – 1 at odds of 10.0.
The last one of our predictions is the ‘To score at any time’ market, Scott McTominay is the choice as he impressed us so much with his sheer determination and courage against the Swiss.
The odds of 4.0 are not too bad in our opinion.

Expected Line Ups
There is some talent in that Hungary team, make no mistake about that.
Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai, not to mention Willi Orbán and Péter Gulácsi, who both play for RB Leipzig, will give you an idea of what Scotland are up against here.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the only way Scotland will progress in this tournament is if they play with pride and determination in front of their passionate fans and, as we saw in the match against Switzerland, anything is possible.
Scotland (3-5-2): Angus Gunn; Jack Hendry, Grant Hanley, Scott McKenna; Anthony Ralston, Scott McTominay, John McGinn, Callum McGregor, Andrew Robertson; Che Adams, Ryan Christie.
Hungary (3-4-3): Péter Gulácsi; Attila Fiola, Willi Orbán, Márton Dárdai; Bendegúz Bolla, Ádám Nagy, András Schäfer, Milos Kerkez; Roland Sallai, Dominik Szoboszlai, Barnabás Varga.
How Far Will These Teams Progress in the Tournament?
At the moment, Scotland has one point, and Hungary doesn’t have any.
Even if Hungary beat Scotland, it is extremely doubtful that they will make it to the group of 16.
If Scotland wins, they will have four points, and as already mentioned, that has been enough in the last two Championships to make it to the next round, not guaranteed, but a good chance.
So, Hungary will leave Euro24 after the group stages, and if Scotland wins, which we think they will, their journey will continue, but we fully expect them to get knocked out in the round of 16.
