What could be better than a Sunday afternoon match between two teams that will no doubt be challenging for the Premier League title at the end of the season?
We’re only four games in and Arsenal are sitting comfortably in third place. And whilst Manchester City find themselves further down the table in eighth place, their performance in the Manchester Derby last weekend proved to any doubters that they are back on the right path.
Arsenal were impressive in their last match at home to Notts Forest with a 3 – 0 win, but it was City’s 3 – 0 victory over United that impressed us the most. They could have ended up scoring a few more goals, to be honest, but more than that, the City team seemed to ooze confidence. And if the smile on Pep Guardiola’s face at the end of the game was anything to go by, it looked like he was more than happy with his team’s performance.
Odds and Predictions
The bookies have made Arsenal the favourites at odds of 1.9, the price for a Man City win is 3.75, and the odds for the draw are available at 3.80.
We actually think that the football betting sites have got this one wrong, and the odds are based more on the position of the teams in the Premier League table at this early stage of the season, as opposed to the recent performance. For us, the most likely outcome of this match is a draw at odds of 3.80 with a scoreline of 1 – 1, that result is priced at 8.0.
For anyone looking for a further interest in this game, we are interested in the anytime scorer market and, in particular, Erling Haaland. Odds of 2.50 are on offer for Haaland to score, which, in our opinion, is a gift!

Comparison and Statistics
Arsenal and Manchester City have played each other head-to-head 213 times in their history, with Arsenal winning 100 games. Manchester City have won 65, and 48 games have ended in a draw.
The last five H2H matches between the two teams have seen Arsenal winning twice, Man City winning once, and two games have ended in a draw.

Expected Line Ups
Viktor Gyökeres has been the standout player so far for Arsenal. That £55 million Arsenal paid Sporting Lisbon for his signature looked expensive at the time, but if Gyökeres carries on playing like he has been, it will definitely be a case of money well spent.
For City, Haaland grabbed the headlines with his two goals against United, but it was Phil Foden who grabbed our attention. He scored a great goal, but more than that, he looked happy and confident, which is a sharp contrast to his demeanour last season.
Arsenal (4-3-3): David Raya; Riccardo Calafiori, William Saliba, Gabriel, Jurrien Timber; Mikel Merino, Declan Rice, Martín Zubimendi; Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyökeres, Noni Madueke.
Manchester City (3-4-2-1): Gianluigi Donnarumma; Rúben Dias, Joško Gvardiol, Abdukodir Khusanov; Bernardo Silva, Tijjani Reijnders, Rodri, Jérémy Doku; Phil Foden, Nathan O’Reilly; Erling Haaland.
How Will the Season Pan Out
It’s too early to tell at the moment. We were pretty negative about Manchester City after their first three games of the season. But more fool us to doubt Pep Guardiola, because that victory over Man Utd was extremely impressive.
Arsenal’s new signings have made a big impact on the team, and their performances have been excellent.
At this point, it looks like both of these teams have a great chance of finishing in the top three, if not winning the title.
