We are looking forward to this Sunday afternoon encounter as we think there are some brilliant betting opportunities on offer. There’s no getting away from the fact that Newcastle have been slightly “off” so far this season. The Alexander Isak situation obviously hasn’t helped, but that spark which Newcastle are famous for looks like it is missing so far this season.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are looking good. That injury-time equaliser against a very good Man City team showed that Arsenal have got the grit and determination to never give up, an attitude that was missing last season.

Mikel Arteta must be over the moon with the new signings, and the fact that Bukayo Saka has put his injury troubles behind him is another indication of the strength in depth of this Arsenal team.

Odds and Predictions

This match is another example of that the football betting sites might getting it wrong. The odds on Newcastle to win are 3.40, the price for the draw is 3.60 and Arsenal are available to back at 2.05.

We watched both of these teams play last weekend and for us, Arsenal should be the odds-on favourites. Even taking into account the fanatical support at St James’s Park, at this point in the season, Arsenal are a different class to Newcastle. Bearing that in mind, the first one of our predictions is a win for Arsenal with a scoreline of 0 – 2, which is available at 10.0.

Those odds of 2.05 for an Arsenal victory is definitely a bet we will be getting involved in, with a small saver on the correct score.

For the last one of our tips, we are getting involved with the “Shots on Target” market and, in particular, Bukayo Saka to get over 1.5 shots on target at odds of 4.0.

One word of warning with this prediction and that is not to place the wager before it is confirmed that Saka is starting the match. If he is named in the starting lineup, then this is a bet that we would definitely recommend.

Comparison and Statistics

Newcastle and Arsenal have played each other H2H 197 times in their history. Arsenal have won 86 of these games, Newcastle have won 72 and 39 games have ended in a draw.

The last five head-to-head meetings between the two teams have seen Arsenal win twice and Newcastle win three times.

Expected Line Ups

For Newcastle, all eyes will be on Nick Woltemade, the £69 million summer signing from Stuttgart. The pressure is definitely on, and the big question is, can he live up to his predecessor, Alexander Isak, who left under a dark cloud to join Liverpool?

It’s great to see Bukayo Saka return for Arsenal, but we have also been impressed with Viktor Gyökeres. He has been ever so impressive since his arrival in the summer and is a player we will definitely be keeping a close eye on this season.

Newcastle United (4-3-3): Nick Pope; Lewis Hall, Dan Burn, Malick Thiaw, Valentino Livramento; Sandro Tonali, Joelinton, Bruno Guimarães; Anthony Gordon, Jacob Murphy, Nick Woltemade.

Arsenal (4-3-3): David Raya; Riccardo Calafiori, William Saliba, Gabriel, Jurrien Timber; Eberechi Eze, Martín Zubimendi, Declan Rice; Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, Viktor Gyökeres.

How Will the Season Pan Out

A top-six finish will be the goal for Newcastle this season, but we think they will struggle to reach those heights, especially while they are still involved in the Champions League.

As for Arsenal, could this be their season to win the Premier League? We are not sure at the moment, but they will definitely be involved in what will no doubt be a closely fought contest with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
