- England beat Croatia 7-0, with Kane and Saka scoring twice.
- Bellingham contributes a goal and three assists in Rijeka.
- Kane needs one more appearance to equal Shilton’s England men’s record.
England deserve the praise after this one. Their 7-0 Nations League victory in Croatia on 3 October set a new competition high for the national side. More encouraging than the margin, though, was their determination to keep attacking when the result no longer looked in doubt.
Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka scored twice apiece, with Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Morgan Rogers completing the scoring. For anyone assessing England on football betting sites, that spread of goals deserves attention. Thomas Tuchel needs opponents worrying about several threats rather than concentrating everything on stopping his captain.
England Must Keep Attacking in Tighter Games
Bellingham’s goal and three assists were particularly significant. England need their most talented players creating chances for each other, and his contribution gave this performance substance beyond the finishing. For me, that is more valuable than another argument about which individual deserves the most attention.
Kane argues England must maintain that attacking appetite in major tournament matches, rather than becoming cautious once they lead.
He is right. Protecting an advantage does not have to mean abandoning the approach that earned it. The real examination comes when England lead narrowly against opponents capable of punishing every mistake. Tuchel needs a side that can recognise when to control possession without surrendering its ambition.
That does not mean demanding seven goals every time. It means expecting the same commitment to creating the next chance, even when the occasion makes caution tempting.
Kane Nears Shilton’s Caps Record
Kane now has 89 goals from 124 England appearances. Playing against Czechia on Tuesday 6 October would bring him alongside Peter Shilton’s men’s record of 125 caps. He also needs another 11 goals to reach an international century.
Those numbers deserve recognition, but the collective challenge should excite England supporters just as much. Tuchel does not need this team to reproduce an extraordinary scoreline against Czechia. He needs them to approach the match with the same conviction. That would tell us more about their progress than another round of trophy predictions.
