It’s been a long old season, but Liverpool have held their nerve and deservedly lifted the Premier League Trophy.

Some pundits will argue that they wouldn’t have been so convincing throughout the season if Manchester City had not fallen to pieces and Arsenal had not been ravaged by injuries, but we believe Liverpool would have won the trophy anyway. Тhey have impressed us so many times throughout the season and few commentators would argue that they have been the standout team of the division.

Chelsea find themselves in fifth position in the Premier League table before this match as well as being in the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, but knowing Chelsea supporters as we do, many of them will look at this season as being something of a disappointment.

We have even heard talk of Enzo Maresca’s job being on the line if Chelsea don’t win the Conference League title, which we find laughable, but that’s Chelsea for you.

Odds and Predictions

We have entered that point in the season where the top football betting sites often make a mistake when pricing up a football match, with this fixture being a prime example.

The odds on Chelsea to win are 2.15, the draw is available at 3.5 and the price for a Liverpool win is 3.20.

We can’t remember the odds on a Liverpool win being as big as that, and the bookies reasoning is that Liverpool now don’t have anything to play for and Chelsea still want to finish as high up the table as possible in order to qualify for Europe next season (if they don’t win the Conference League).

Don’t forget that Chelsea have a semi-final match against Djurgarden three days before this match and we believe that the last thing that Arne Slot will be doing is taking his foot off the gas.

With that in mind, for the first one of our tips, we are going for a comfortable 0 – 2 victory for Liverpool at odds of 21.0, immense value in our opinion.

We also like the look of Mohamed Salah “To Score at Any Time”, so for the last one of our predictions, we are going to recommend this bet at odds of 2.62, yet another example of the bookies getting it completely wrong, but we are not complaining.

Comparison and Statistics

Chelsea and Liverpool have played each other H2H 198 times in their history, Liverpool have won 87 of these games, Chelsea have won 65, and 46 have ended in a draw.

The last five head-to-head matches between these two teams have resulted in three wins for Liverpool and two draws, so Liverpool have definitely had the upper hand.

Expected Line Ups

There is always the chance that Liverpool will give some of their younger players a run-out for this match, but even if they do, we fully expect them to be more than a match for a Chelsea side who will have other things on their mind.

Cole Palmer has been off the boil a bit lately, but we all know that he can have a massive impact on any game, and Nikolas Jackson always looks a threat up front.

Chelsea (4-2-3-1): R. Sánchez; M. Gusto, T. Adarabioyo, L. Colwill, R. Veiga; M. Caicedo, E. Fernández; N. Madueke, C. Palmer, J. Sancho; N. Jackson.

Liverpool (4-3-3): C. Kelleher; T. Alexander-Arnold, I. Konaté, V. van Dijk, A. Robertson; D. Szoboszlai, R. Gravenberch, A. Mac Allister; M. Salah, D. Jota, L. Díaz.

How Will the Season Pan Out

Even though it has looked likely for many weeks, Liverpool have held their nerve and lifted the Premier League trophy.

Chelsea could end up finishing in third place as well as winning the Europa Conference League trophy, that scenario would surely keep the critics off the back of Enzo Maresca but you just never know, we hope that he keeps his job because he is an exciting young manger and we look forward to seeing what he can do with Chelsea next season.
