This match has taken on a completely new lease of life as it‘s the first match in which Ruben Amorim takes charge of a Man Utd side that has been in disarray over the past few seasons.
He certainly has a fine pedigree, but we have seen so many top managers arrive at Old Trafford and fail to live up to their expectations.
We believe Ruben Amorim will excel in the challenge he faces at what is arguably the biggest club in the world, but he must start off on the right foot and pick up the points at Portman Road.
The goal for Ipswich Town this season will be to avoid relegation and with a stunning victory away to Spurs in their last match, they must be feeling confident going into Sunday’s encounter.
Odds and Predictions
Top football betting sites are predicting that the new manager will have a positive effect and have priced the match accordingly, making Man Utd strong favourites at 1.61, the odds on the draw are 4.0, and Ipswich are available at 5.25.
We were surprised by how stingy the odds are for the away team but on this occasion, we have to agree with the bookies as we believe Man Utd will win this game, whilst Ipswich aren’t going to roll over and let the like of Bruno Fernandes boss them around, we do think this will be a winning debut for Ruben Amorim.
The odds of 1.61 are too low for us to place a bet on that outcome but for the first one of our tips, a scoreline of 1 – 3 at odds of 13.0 is worth a small wager in our opinion.
If you are interested in another wager for this match, for the last one of our predictions we are going for a simple Bet Builder which is made up of two selections, ‘Match result will be Man Utd’ and ‘Over 2 goals’.
Low odds of 2.15 but we believe this is a good bet.

Expected Line Ups
Even though Ipswich have nor exactly set the Premier League on fire, we have been impressed by their gritty displays whilst at the same time, always trying to play in the manner we have been accustomed to under their young and exciting manager, Kieran McKenna.
Rory Delap in particular is proving to be worth every penny of the reported £20M fee Ipswich paid Man City and we always look forward to watching him play.
For the Man Utd players, they have definitely got something to prove after the dismal performances under Erik ten Hag so it would be safe to say they will be aiming to show their new manager what they are made of.
Ipswich Town (4-2-3-1): A. Muric; Ben Johnson, Dara O’Shea, C. Burgess, Leif Davis; Sam Morsy, Jens Cajuste; O. Hutchinson, S. Szmodics, Liam Delap.
Manchester United (4-2-3-1): Andre Onana; Diogo Dalot, M. De Ligt, L. Martinez, N. Mazraoui; Casemiro, M. Ugarte; Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, A. Garnacho; R. Hojlund.
How Will the Season Pan Out
For Ipswich, their goal for this season will be to stay in the Premiership, it is as simple as that and we believe they have what it takes to do it, but it is a big ask.
Man Utd, who find themselves 13th in the table before this match, must be targeting a top 4 finish which would seem to be an impossible task, but a closer look at the table shows that they are only 4 points behind Arsenal who are sitting in 4th place at the moment so if Ruben Amorim gets off to a good start, 4th place or higher is a definite possibility.
